While other children are busy playing with their gadgets, this young boy spends most of his time helping his grandfather in gardening or washing his own clothes and shoes.
Children love to play and fool around in the first years of their life as they are entitled to. But for 5-year-old Joaquim Johanness, or locally known as “Jojo”, spends most of his time helping his grandparents in doing household chores. At a very young age, Jojo has learned how to be responsible and be caring for his grandparents who are proud to have him as a grandson.
Instead of playing with friends, people often find Jojo helping his grandfather with gardening. As a matter of fact, he now knows how to use a hoe (with his grandpa’s assistance of course). Jojo is as diligent at home and when studying as a pre-school student at Sekolah Kebangsaan St. Augustine Betong in Sarawak, Malaysia.
In the series of photos shared by CIkgu Emmet, Jojo can be seen washing and arranging his clothes and shoes without being told by his grandparents. Many netizens also noticed that Jojo really enjoyed doing chores and helping his grandparents.
“While the other kids in the city are spending their free time on gadgets and video games, there are kids living in the rural areas like Jojo, who utilizes his time on wholesome physical activities which help to promote independence,” Cikgu Emmet wrote.
